People don’t want to admit it.
But if this current healthcare bill passes, that precedent will have been set.
As long as you can make an argument that it is for the “common welfare” you can mandate the population do whatever you want.
If the Constitution is no longer viewed as LIMITING the powers of the federal govt. [which appears to be the way Obama/Democrats are leaning] then that means they have UNLIMITED authority to pass any law the party in power thinks will benefit the general welfare. Dangerous territory.
